These are medium and high power electrical machines. They have a long operating life of about 30 years. After this time they are completely rehabilitated. Operation with maximum energy efficiency is absolutely essential. Also, reliability in supplying the networks is a major requirement.\n    <\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #333; line-height: 1.6;\">\n        Most synchronous generators in the country use old rotary exciters. These operate as DC generators or with rotating diodes. Only a few national units have implemented static excitation variants. In recent years, there has been a special emphasis on modernization. We want to modernize the excitation systems in order to achieve superior performance. In this way, we comply with the regulations imposed by the Community Union and TRANSELECTRICA.\n    <\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #333; line-height: 1.6;\">\n        Our priority is research into static excitation systems. These are designed for hydrogenerators with unique characteristics. They have high electromagnetic constants and very large inertial masses. These parameters can lead to dangerous overvoltages in transient regimes. The project aims at the theoretical and experimental study of modern systems. We use digital regulation to increase efficiency and automation.\n    <\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #333; line-height: 1.6; margin-bottom: 0;\">\n        The project is in line with current European research. We are developing high-performance digital control systems and new strategies. We use advanced static excitation systems as an execution element. We aim to reduce dangerous overvoltage peaks in the system. We are developing modern de-excitation and forcing excitation modules. These will be continued in a later phase within another future partnership. The new partnership will strictly aim at the creation of a homologated prototype. For this reason, related to the prospects of developing applications in the field, the final report contains an additional element. We also focused on hydropower plants that are currently under construction or in the rehabilitation phase. Of the total number of hydropower plants in the country, with an installed capacity of 6,400 MW, over 90% provide energy with outdated systems. These belong to the 124 large hydropower plants and 223 microhydropower plants. They have a low degree of automation and a very low energy efficiency. The equipment is completely incompatible with the modern energy system of the European Union. All these units have started or will immediately start the rehabilitation process.\n    <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h3 style=\"color: #cc0000; font-size: 1.2em; margin-bottom: 10px;\">Untapped potential and the academic environment<\/h3>\n<div style=\"background-color: #fff; border: 1px solid #ddd; padding: 25px; margin-bottom: 40px; box-shadow: 0 2px 5px rgba(0,0,0,0.05);\">\n<p style=\"color: #444; line-height: 1.6; margin-top: 0;\">\n        The undeveloped hydropower potential is still estimated at a fabulous 5,600 MW. For this, the issue of modern solutions dedicated exclusively to excitations arises. The project determines a significant increase in the efficiency of energy production from non-polluting sources. It also encourages the development of applications in the field of medium or small power hydropower.\n    <\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444; line-height: 1.6; margin-bottom: 0;\">\n        The impact was also strong on the national educational system. The Politehnica University of Timisoara (Faculty of Electrical Engineering) and the University of Craiova (Faculty of Electromechanics) were involved. Young specialists were trained, prepared to assimilate advanced technologies. They will develop modern energy production solutions. Alexandru Bitoleanu Rezumatul proiectului si noutatea tehnologica Producerea energiei electrice se face aproape in totalitate cu ajutorul generatoarelor sincrone. Acestea sunt masini electrice de putere medie si mare. Ele au o durata mare de functionare de circa 30 de ani. Dupa acest timp ele se reabiliteaza complet. Functionarea cu eficienta energetica maxima este absolut esentiala. De asemenea, fiabilitatea in alimentarea retelelor este o cerinta majora. Majoritatea generatoarelor sincrone din tara folosesc excitatoare rotative vechi. Acestea functioneaza ca generatoare de curent continuu sau cu diode rotative. Doar cateva unitati nationale au implementat variante de excitatie statica. In ultimii ani se pune un accent deosebit pe modernizare. Dorim modernizarea sistemelor de excitatie pentru a realiza performante superioare. Respectam astfel reglementarile impuse de Uniunea Comunitara si TRANSELECTRICA. Prioritatea noastra sunt cercetarile pentru sistemele de excitatie statica. Acestea sunt destinate hidrogeneratoarelor cu caracteristici unicat. Ele au constante electromagnetice mari si mase inertiale foarte mari. Acesti parametri pot conduce la supratensiuni periculoase in regimuri tranzitorii. Proiectul vizeaza studiul teoretic si experimental al sistemelor moderne. Utilizam reglarea digitala pentru cresterea randamentului si automatizarii. Proiectul se racordeaza la cercetarile actuale europene. Dezvoltam sisteme de reglare digitale performante si noi strategii. Folosim ca element de executie sisteme avansate de excitatie statica. Urmarim reducerea varfurilor de supratensiune periculoase din sistem. Dezvoltam module de dezexcitare si fortare a excitatiei moderne. Acestea asigura viteze de raspuns extrem de mari in operare. Activitatile principale realizate de parteneri Studiul teoretic si modelarea numerica Studiul privind stadiul actual al cercetarilor in acest domeniu; Analiza structurii sistemelor existente, limite, dezavantaje si tendinte; Studiul sistemelor de excitatie statica si al posibilitatilor de automatizare; Realizarea unui model numeric folosind produse program recunoscute international; Utilizarea platformelor software specializate de tip Matlab si Simulink; Studierea regimurilor de functionare pentru cristalizarea cerintelor tehnice optime. Proiectarea, experimentarea si implementarea Analiza functiunilor si a performantelor dinamice din retea; Stabilirea caracteristicilor sistemului hardware (automat programabil, dezvoltare cu DSP); Alegerea unei solutii optime de excitatie statica pentru modelul experimental; Elaborarea specificatiei tehnice si a documentatiei complete de executie; Realizarea unui model experimental de laborator cu excitatie statica; Testarea unui generator sincron cu poli aparenti de 15 kVA; Efectuarea de teste si studii experimentale complexe pe model; Elaborarea unui raport final privind rezultatele stiintifice obtinute; Diseminarea rezultatelor si transferul tehnologic direct catre beneficiari. Perspective viitoare si dezvoltarea prototipului Se precizeaza clar ca acest proiect de cercetare complex are ca realizare practica un model de laborator si un model industrial. Acestea se vor continua intr-o faza ulterioara in cadrul unui alt parteneriat de viitor. Noul parteneriat va viza strict realizarea unui prototip omologat. Din acest motiv, legat de perspectivele dezvoltarii aplicatiilor din domeniu, raportul final contine un element suplimentar. El include in rezumat si un caiet de sarcini profesional pentru realizarea unui prototip. Perioada: 14.09.2007 &#8211; 15.12.2007 Valoarea etapei: 40.000 lei Etapa II (Anul 2008) Activitate: Realizare documentatie de executie pentru model experimental. Perioada: 16.12.2007 &#8211; 15.07.2008 Valoarea etapei: 598.000 lei Etapele de executie si testare (2009 &#8211; 2010) Etapa III (Anul 2009) Activitate: Realizare model experimental. Perioada: 16.06.2008 &#8211; 28.02.2009 Valoarea etapei: 350.000 lei Etapa IV (Anul 2009) Activitate: Studii experimentale detaliate pe modelul realizat. Perioada: 16.12.2009 &#8211; 18.11.2010 Valoarea etapei: 93.936 lei Impactul generat de rezultatele proiectului Transferul tehnologic si nevoia de reabilitare Impactul a presupus transferul tehnologic al solutiilor studiate direct catre hidrocentrale. Ne-am orientat inclusiv catre hidroamenajari aflate in curs de realizare sau in faza de reabilitare. Din totalul hidrogeneratoarelor din tara, cu o putere instalata de 6.400 MW, peste 90% furnizeaza energie cu sisteme depasite. Acestea apartin celor 124 hidrocentrale mari si 223 microhidrocentrale. Ele au un grad scazut de automatizare si un randament energetic foarte scazut. Echipamentele sunt complet necompatibile cu sistemul energetic modern al Uniunii Europene. Toate aceste unitati au inceput sau vor incepe imediat procesul de reabilitare. Potentialul neamenajat si mediul academic Potentialul hidroenergetic neamenajat inca este evaluat la fabuloasa cifra de 5.600 MW. Pentru acesta se pune problema unor solutii moderne dedicate exclusiv excitatiilor. Proiectul determina cresterea semnificativa a randamentului in productia energiei din surse nepoluante. De asemenea, incurajeaza dezvoltarea aplicatiilor in domeniul hidroamenajarilor de putere medie sau mica. Impactul a fost puternic si asupra sistemului educational national. S-au implicat Universitatea Politehnica din Timisoara (Facultatea de Electrotehnica) si Universitatea din Craiova (Facultatea de Electromecanica). S-au format tineri specialisti pregatiti sa asimileze tehnologii avansate. Acestia vor dezvolta solutii moderne de producere a energiei. In final, hidrocentralele vor fi corect conectate intr-un sistem compatibil complet cu standardele Uniunii Europene.
