Certification and Competencies
The mechanical testing laboratory within ICMET Craiova is RENAR accredited, guaranteeing the quality and precision of the tests performed. We offer complete mechanical and thermomechanical validation services for a wide range of electrotechnical equipment, in accordance with international standards.

Testing Facilities and Equipment
Mechanical and thermomechanical tests for insulators and insulated bushings
Static tensile testing machine for long-length insulators in ambient environment
and in the 24 m3 thermostatic enclosure
– insulator length up to 5000 mm
– temperature range: -35 degrees C … +50 degrees C
– traction force: 0 … 300 kN
Static tensile and bending testing machine for insulators in ambient environment
and in the thermostatic enclosure of 1.5 m3
- – length of insulators for tensile testing up to 1200 mm
- – length of insulators for bending test up to 500 mm
- – temperature range: -35 degrees C … +50 degrees C
- – traction force: 0 … 300 kN
Static compression and buckling testing machine (0 … 200 kN)
for insulators with lengths up to 2000 mm
MECHANICAL TEST STAND
– maximum height: 7 m
– maximum force: 5000 N
with voltage levels up to 550 kV
Mechanical torsion and bending tests for long-length insulators
Checking the protection provided by enclosures for low and high voltage equipment
– Checking the degree of protection of the housing (maximum IP 66)
– Checking protection against mechanical impacts (maximum 50 J)
