The main objective and importance of testing

Evaluation of radio communication systems

The project has as a priority objective the creation of a modern accredited laboratory. It is intended for the strict evaluation of the performances of radiocommunication systems. We strictly comply with the R&TTE directive of the Council and the Parliament of the European Union. This directive is officially known under the code 1999/5/EC. We also perfectly align ourselves with the national legislation through GD 88/2003.

We are targeting equipment operating in the famous ISM frequency band. This band is heavily used for industrial, scientific and medical applications.

Implementation stages and documentation

Stage I (Year 2006)

Activity: Study of the requirements of Directive 1999/5/EC and European standards for radiocommunications.
Term: 30.11.2006

Stage II (Year 2007)

Activity: Development, design and implementation of the functional model of the ultra high frequency laboratory.
Term: 29.06.2007

Stage III (Year 2007)

Activity: Advanced technical experiments carried out in the newly created laboratory.
Term: 28.09.2007

Stage IV (Year 2008)

Activity: Accreditation of the measurement laboratory in the ultra high frequency field.
Term: 31.03.2008

Technical impact and economic success

Ensuring equipment safety

The project is completed with a fully operational and authorized laboratory. It will perform accredited tests for radio equipment and telecom terminals. The verification of these equipment ensures a correct and legal marketing on the market.

Only products that demonstrate absolutely safe operation in the network are approved. The equipment must not affect the operation of other devices in the vicinity at all. They must also guarantee total protection of the health of exposed people.

Beneficiaries and human resources training

Potential users are companies that manufacture or import modern wireless networks. We are also looking at peripherals or smart devices that communicate in the microwave domain.

The laboratory directly supports economic agents to create exceptional products. The technical parameters achieved will comply with the most demanding current European standards. We also provide an essential experimental base for researching new products.

The project contributes massively to the training and improvement of young human resources. Thus, the conformity assessment infrastructure receives very well-trained specialists.
