Project: Characterization of electromagnetic shielding materials

Description and Objectives

Theoretical aspects and comparative experiments were substantiated regarding the methods of analysis and shielding of electromagnetic fields that can be applied to various materials.
The attenuation of various types of materials used for architectural screening was determined.

Testing materials with electromagnetic shielding properties using a DTEM cell

Project – Development of information and research infrastructure in order to increase the application capability of ICMET Craiova by complying with the requirements of EU DIRECTIVE 30/2014 AND DIRECTIVE 2013/35/EU

Use and Purpose

The created site is used for EMC experiments, RF measurements, pre-compliance and compliance tests in accordance with the standards in force, in order to validate the research results of specialists from the country and abroad. The site is equipped with a flexible Faraday enclosure with performances comparable to a conventional Faraday cage.

  • Shielding performance: 0÷10GHz = 70dB, 10÷20GHz = 50dB;
  • Double screen (two layers); Shape: rectangular;

Audit Objectives
  • substantiating measures to save energy resources, modernize installations and increase economic efficiency;
  • establishing the absolute and specific quantities of energy consumed in, respectively, the results of the analyzed technological process;
  • determining the quantities of mass and energy that leave the examined process at an energy level sufficient to be reused;
  • determining the energy losses related to the process, in terms of location and value;
  • estimating the technical and energy level of the examined process.

Result: Plan of measures and good practices to increase energy efficiency in industrial consumers
