High Power Division
Excellence in testing power equipment
High Power Division represents the core of the validation activities of electrotechnical equipment in short-circuit and switching regime within ICMET Craiova. This structure coordinates exceptional technical resources, unique in Romania, intended for testing power transformers, circuit breakers, cables and other high and medium voltage equipment.
The division's activity is structured in two main directions: internationally accredited testing services (through LMP) and Research and Development (RD) activities for innovation in the energy field.
DIVISION STRUCTURE
1. High Power Testing Laboratory (LMP)
RENAR accredited laboratory for short circuit, breaking capacity and thermal stability tests. Offers testing services for low, medium and high voltage electrotechnical equipment.
- Short circuit tests (transformers).
- Breaking and closing capacity (apparatus).
- Thermal and dynamic stability.
2. High Power CD Laboratory
Collective dedicated to Research and Development activities, focused on developing new testing methods, diagnosing equipment in failure mode and studies on the behavior of equipment under extreme loads.
- Development of experimental stands.
- Simulations and modeling of short circuit phenomena.
- Technical expertise and specialized consulting.
