Low Voltage Equipment Testing
Low Voltage Equipment Testing
International Recognition and Accreditation
The collective of Low Voltage Equipment Tests is a center of excellence within ICMET, its technical competence being officially recognized since 2007. The laboratory holds the accreditation granted by the National Accreditation Body – Romanian Accreditation Association (RENAR). RENAR's membership status within ILAC (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation) and EA (European co-operation for Accreditation) guarantees the international recognition of our reports, the activity being carried out in strict accordance with the reference standard SR EN ISO/CEI 17025:2005.

Investments and Development
To ensure a high level of performance, the laboratory infrastructure has been constantly developed and modernized. This evolution was supported by funds from the state budget, accessed through the national competitive programs Research Excellence (CEEX) and INFRAS, allowing the endowment with state-of-the-art equipment.
Objectives and Services
The main mission of the team is to ensure the safety of users and equipment. We perform a full range of electrical safety tests and functional checks dedicated to low voltage electrical and electronic equipment. All tests are carried out to certify the compliance of products with the essential safety requirements, as specified in European legislation, specifically in Low Voltage Directive 2006/95/EC.
Strategic Partnership: Since January 2011, the Low Voltage Laboratory is included in the network of laboratories approved by the National Center for Comparative Testing, a partner of the National Association for Consumer Protection.
Scope – Tested products
The laboratory has the capability to verify a wide range of products:
- Household appliances.
- Low voltage switchgear assemblies.
- Auxiliary and control circuits of high voltage equipment.
- Information technology (IT) equipment.
- Measuring, control and laboratory devices.
- Electrical equipment of cars.
