Within this electrical testing team, ICMET Craiova concentrates extensive expertise in the verification and validation of equipment intended for national and international energy infrastructure. Our role is essential in guaranteeing operational safety, functioning as a quality filter between equipment manufacturers and end users (energy transporters and distributors). Our activity is not limited to the execution of standardized tests, but offers a complete technical assessment of product reliability.

Quality assurance and accreditations

All activities carried out in our laboratories strictly comply with the requirements of the SR EN ISO/CEI 17025 standard. RENAR accreditation confirms the technical competence of the staff, the precision of the measuring equipment and the impartiality of the results. Test reports issued under the ICMET logo are vital documents for certifying product conformity, being recognized in the European Union and on international markets. This recognition facilitates the access of our partners to public tenders and large-scale projects, eliminating technical trade barriers.

Integrated service structure

A major advantage of working with us is the ability to perform „one-stop-shop” testing. A complex piece of equipment, such as a power transformer or an electrical cell, can go through a complete testing cycle in the same location. From high-voltage tests that verify insulation, to electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) tests required for attached smart electronics, we cover all regulatory requirements.

• High voltage equipment tests

  This section details our state-of-the-art infrastructure, including our 4.2 MV pulse generator and shielded hall. Here we perform critical lightning and surge tests for transformers, cables and insulators.

• Electromagnetic compatibility tests

  The dedicated EMC laboratory ensures emission and immunity verification. It is essential for modern equipment that contains sensitive electronics and must function without errors in disturbed environments.

• Low voltage equipment tests

  Complete services for low voltage switchgear and controlgear. We check user safety, contact heating and the behavior of electrical insulating materials.

Research and development support

In addition to commercial testing, our team actively supports research departments in the development of new prototypes. We provide preliminary technical consulting, helping manufacturers identify and correct potential design vulnerabilities before the final certification phase, thus reducing costs and time to market.
